This past Saturday, I went on a little adventure with Sharon from UndertheBlush and my friend Heather. It was a beautiful sunny day and we wandered down to Dundas to check out the 17th annual Dundas International Buskerfest. For those of you who don't know, Buskerfest is a sort of festival where street performers from all over the world come together to perform for the public. In this case, the main street in the middle of town is cut off and the local businesses open their doors to hundreds of visitors.
The "Buskers" or street performers come from all over the world, to bring a smile to our faces and to show us how to find the joy in life. There are comedians, mimes, acrobats, artists and people with incredible talents. We stopped to watch few acts and witnessed an extreme water balloon fight, a women who could lift two grown men, a living statue and an amazing acrobat.
Along side the Buskers, come a variety of vendors selling all sorts of products; clothing, jewellery, home wares, beauty items, and collectibles. If you don't see anything of interest you can stop to get a quick massage, a henna tattoo or a consultation with a tarot card reader. And of course, you can grab a bite to eat or a delicious fresh squeezed lemonade.
Buskerfest is an event that I look forward to every year and this year was fantastic. I had such a great time with some awesome people and I can't wait for next year!
