Finding The Light | Becca Cosmetics Backlight Priming Filter Review & Swatches

Finding The Light | Becca Cosmetics Backlight Luminous Priming Filter Review & Swatches | labellesirene.ca

Hey Beauties!

We all know that the sub-zero temperatures and icy winds of winter can reek havoc on our skin and when you have a naturally dry complexion to begin with (like myself) you need to learn to fake the look of a healthy glow. A good skincare routine will get you started but for that big helping hand try dabbling in liquid illumination.

Liquid illuminators are the key to achieving fresh, radiant skin all year round but they are even more essential in the winter when powder products might not be your best friend. Take the cold weather as an invitation to find the light and the best place to start is with a primer like the new Becca Cosmetics Backlight Priming Filter

The Becca Cosmetics Backlight Priming Filter not only has an amazing name that makes me think of movie sets and stage lighting but it also has a winning concept that ticks off every check mark in my book. It retails for $46 CAD/$38 USD and comes in a stunning 1fl oz frosted glass bottle with a luxe bronze lid and pump.

The Backlight Priming Filter is the next generation of Becca's line of glow getters, the Shimmering Skin Perfectors both pressed, poured and liquid have paved the way for it to be perfectly acceptable to gleam from head to toe and now the Backlight Priming Filter is taking it up a notch.

The Backlight Priming Filter is a primer that you apply to fresh skin before the rest of your makeup. It is intended to moisturize, smooth, fill and prep skin for foundation while also adding that signature Becca touch - a radiant glow.

The Priming Filter is infused with 3 "Filtering Luminescent Pearls" which are essentially 3 different tones of crushed pearl that add a drop of diffused light to the formula. The 3 different pearls brighten, correct and highlight skin, acting as an instant filter for your complexion. Think of it as a real life Slumber filter.

The filter creates a diffused, soft focus appearance that helps to blur imperfections, make skin look smoother and of course naturally radiant. The primer uses it's sheer champagne gold tint and luminous sheen to add a candlelit glow all over the face. It is a soft glow as if you are literally lit from within and there is no glitter, sparkle or shine in sight.

The Backlight Priming Filter has a unique texture, it is an incredibly lightweight whipped cream that feels like a light lotion and melts right into the skin. It smooths over the face with a slight cooling sensation and adds an immediate boost of moisture. The formula is primarily water based so it continues to hydrate and soothe skin throughout the day.

It is also enriched with Vitamin E to minimize the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles as well as Licorice Extract to tone and tighten the skin. It is formulated without parabens, sulfates and phthalates.

The Priming Filter can be used in a number of ways, either as a primer an illuminator(to highlight) or a daily no makeup glow giver. As a primer it helps foundation to apply more smoothly and to blend more effectively. It pairs well with sheer to full coverage and both dewy, satin and matte formulas. No matter what you pair it with, the filter extends the wear, adds moisture and creates a flawless airbrushed glow.

In my opinion, the Backlight Priming Filter has all of the attributes of the perfect primer. It hydrates, smooths skin, aids foundation and gives a serious glow. It also smells like roses which I find so soothing. As a long time fan of the Shimmering Skin Perfectors, I knew Becca would create the ultimate concoction and they didn't let me down. If you are in need of a new primer or you just love a good glow then you need to try this primer. If you have oily skin, don't worry just avoid the t-zone!

The Becca Cosmetics Backlight Priming Filter can be purchased at your local Sephora or online at Sephora or Becca Cosmetics
